How much is left for 5G mobiles for less than 200 euros?

The networks of the future are already present in an industry eager for significant developments, and that has grabbed 5G connectivity and folding mobiles like the red nails of a new generation that promises, but still does not offer too many solutions.

How much is left for 5G mobiles for less than 200 euros?

In fact, in Spain, we began to see 5G mobiles already in the MWC 2019 with the budding Vodafone network, and only a few months later, we could test a 5G mobile to experience firsthand that the connectivity of the future offers supersonic speeds for a smartphone.

However, it still has a lot of room for improvement in the coming years.

It is confirmed by expert consultants such as Gartner, who anticipate in 2020 the start of the 5G connectivity takeoff but still at a slow pace.  And we could also check it in the first person, with minimal coverage and few compatible terminals.

In 2020, more 5G mobiles will be sold, but until 2021 or 2022, they will not be democratized permanently.

We were told by colleagues from GSMArena that Gartner forecasts by 2020 an increase of up to 1.7% in smartphone sales globally, good news coming from 2019 with a 2% decrease from the previous year, with growth driven mainly for China and emerging markets in Asia.

The mobile 5G, meanwhile, should represent up to 12% of the total smartphones sold in 2020 and starting an almost exponential growth in subsequent months, which will take them in 2022 to dispose of up to 43% share in a very positive projection.

In any case, the good news for an industry that has not seen 5G and already works with 6G connectivity ends there, because Gartner itself foresees further falls in global sales figures for the coming years, being able to sell up to 20 million mobile units less in 2022.

Huawei is one of the giants most involved in the deployment of 5G and has already warned that in 2021 they will sell a 5G mobile for only $ 150.

The democratization of this technology, in any case, will not come until we have expanded coverage and compatible terminals at contained prices, something that we will have at the end of this year 2020 or early 2021.

Huawei warned us, undoubtedly, the manufacturer most interested in the massive deployment of 5G since most operators have relied on their network equipment, that they are already working on a 5G smartphone at accessible prices that would arrive at the latest in the first weeks of 2021.

Its price would be about 1028 yuan, something like 150 dollars or about 135 euros at the current exchange, thus allowing many more users to enjoy the maximum speed of mobile connectivity at the best price.

It should be remembered that right now in Spain, the cheapest 5G phones are around 600 euros in the Vodafone catalog.

This democratization should contribute 1000T chipsets MediaTek and Snapdragon 765G Qualcomm, both presented with optional integration of a native 5G modem and both aimed at the middle cut of the Android catalog.

Many say that, anyway, no one will be interested in 5G until Apple launches an iPhone with 5G. Are you not wrong so much?
